Our policies are designed to ensure a safe, comfortable, secure, and enjoyable experience for all guests, visitors, residents, and patrons of the hotel. By making a reservation, checking into the hotel, or using any hotel facilities, guests agree to comply with the following policies and regulations.
1. General Policy Statement
Management reserves the right to refuse accommodation, service, or access to any individual whose conduct is considered disruptive, unlawful, unsafe, abusive, or inconsistent with the standards and reputation of the hotel. These policies form part of the contractual agreement between the guest and the hotel.
2. Check-In & Check-Out Policy
Check-In Time
- Standard check-in time: 3:00 PM
Check-Out Time
- Standard check-out time: 11:00 AM
Early Check-In
Early check-in is subject to room availability and may attract additional charges.
Late Check-Out
Late check-out requests are subject to availability:
- Until 3:00 PM — complimentary, where available
- 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM — 50% of applicable room rate
- After 6:00 PM — full nightly room rate applies
Guests remaining beyond the approved check-out period without authorization may be charged accordingly.
3. Identification & Registration
In compliance with Nigerian law and hospitality regulations:
- All guests must present a valid government-issued identification document at check-in.
- International guests must provide a valid passport and visa documentation where applicable.
- The hotel reserves the right to refuse accommodation where valid identification cannot be provided.
Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or authorized adult.
4. Reservations, Deposits & Payments
Reservation Guarantee
Reservations may require:
- Full prepayment,
- Partial deposit, or
- Credit card guarantee.
Accepted Payment Methods
The hotel accepts:
- Bank transfer
- POS payments
- Visa and Mastercard
- Approved corporate billing arrangements
Incidental Deposit
The hotel reserves the right to request a refundable incidental/security deposit upon check-in.
Outstanding Balances
All outstanding balances must be settled before departure unless otherwise approved by management.
5. Cancellation & No-Show Policy
Flexible Rate Reservations
- Free cancellation up to 72 hours before arrival
- Cancellations within 72 hours may incur a one-night charge
Non-Refundable Reservations
Non-refundable bookings are not eligible for cancellation, amendment, or refund.
No-Show
Failure to arrive on the confirmed arrival date without notice will result in:
- Automatic cancellation of the reservation, and
- Applicable no-show charges.
For group bookings, event reservations, or long stays, separate cancellation terms may apply.
6. Occupancy Policy
- Room occupancy shall not exceed the maximum capacity stated for the booked room category.
- Additional guests may attract supplementary charges.
- Visitors are permitted only in designated public areas unless registered with reception.
The hotel reserves the right to deny access to unauthorized visitors.
7. Child Policy
Children are welcome at the hotel under adult supervision. For safety reasons:
- Children under 16 years must be supervised at all times in public areas.
- Children are not permitted in the pool area without adult supervision.
- Parents and guardians remain fully responsible for the conduct and safety of minors.
8. Smoking Policy
The Hill Station, Jos operates a strict smoke-free policy in all indoor public areas and guest rooms. Smoking, including vaping and shisha, is prohibited in:
- Guest rooms
- Corridors
- Restaurants
- Meeting rooms
- Elevators
- Indoor public spaces
A deep-cleaning and restoration fee of $500 or NGN equivalent will apply for violations.
9. Alcohol & Illegal Substance Policy
The hotel promotes responsible alcohol consumption. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Illegal drugs or narcotics
- Weapons or explosives
- Criminal activity
- Public intoxication causing disturbance
Management reserves the right to involve law enforcement authorities where necessary.
10. Guest Conduct & Noise Policy
To preserve a peaceful environment:
- Quiet hours apply from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Excessive noise, parties, or disruptive behavior are prohibited
- Harassment, abusive language, or threatening behavior toward guests or staff will not be tolerated
Guests violating these policies may be asked to leave without refund.
11. Damage & Liability Policy
Guests are financially responsible for any damage caused to:
- Guest rooms
- Furniture
- Fixtures
- Equipment
- Hotel property
The hotel reserves the right to charge repair, replacement, or restoration costs to the guest’s account or payment method on file.
12. Housekeeping Policy
Daily housekeeping service is provided unless otherwise requested. For guest privacy and security:
- “Do Not Disturb” signs will be respected
- The hotel reserves the right to access rooms for safety, maintenance, emergency, or welfare checks where necessary
13. Lost & Found Policy
Items left behind will be recorded and retained for a limited period in accordance with hotel procedures. The hotel:
- Does not accept liability for lost, stolen, or misplaced valuables
- Recommends use of in-room safes for valuable items
Unclaimed items may be disposed of after the retention period.
14. Pool, Gym & Recreational Facilities Policy
Guests using recreational facilities do so at their own risk. Appropriate attire is required at all times. The hotel shall not be liable for:
- Injury arising from misuse of the facilities,
- Failure to follow safety instructions, or
- Unsupervised use by minors.
15. Food & Beverage Policy
Outside food and beverages may not be permitted in certain hotel areas, restaurants, lounges, or event spaces unless approved by management.
Food allergies and dietary restrictions should be communicated in advance.
16. Pet Policy
Unless otherwise stated:
- Pets are not permitted within hotel premises,
- except certified service animals where legally applicable.
17. Security & Surveillance
For the safety and protection of guests, staff, and property:
- CCTV surveillance operates in public areas of the hotel
- Security checks may be conducted where necessary
- Guests are encouraged to secure valuables appropriately
18. Parking Policy
Parking is available subject to availability. The hotel shall not be responsible for:
- Theft,
- Loss,
- Damage to vehicles,
- or items left inside vehicles.
Guests park at their own risk.
19. Force Majeure
The hotel shall not be liable for failure to perform obligations due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including:
- Natural disasters,
- Civil unrest,
- Government restrictions,
- Epidemics,
- Power disruptions,
- Security emergencies,
- or other force majeure events.
20. Privacy & Data Protection
The Hill Station, Jos is committed to protecting guest personal information in accordance with applicable Nigerian laws, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) and related hospitality privacy obligations.
Guest information shall be:
- securely processed,
- used only for legitimate hospitality operations,
- and not unlawfully disclosed to third parties.

21. Management Rights
Management reserves the right to:
- amend hotel policies without prior notice,
- refuse service where necessary,
- relocate guests in emergency circumstances,
- and take reasonable action to protect hotel operations, guests, staff, and property.
